October was full and busy. In addition to editing, in the beginning of September, I started vlogging again. It was a combination of things that prompted me to start, including my new computer being able to perform well enough, which made it practical for me to start again. It’s also been fun because I’ve been traveling and whenever I travel, I find the change in environment makes it easier for me to be productive.

Editing Mother Mercy on the go has been great. I’ve been using a printed paper copy, one of my favorite methods, and my iPad and pen. I didn’t realize how helpful my iPad would be for this when I first got it, but it’s been a game changer.
I alternated between tablet and paper, just to give my mind and eyes a break, plus reducing fatigue helps make sure I’m not skipping over mistakes. That tends to happen more when my brain is too used to the formatting and reads things as they are supposed to be instead of how they actually are.
This trip was extra special because it was off the grid. We spent a couple days at Under Canvas, a glamping site in the Smoky Mountains where there’s little to no cell service which is wonderful for minimizing distraction. The biggest plus is that it’s pet friendly so Piper was able to come with us. She is the best writing buddy and enjoyed the change of pace.
She’s just as happy laying on the floor next to me while I work as she is making sure I get up and stretch my legs throughout the day.
Since we were able to get out and relax for a bit, I had a chance to get some pictures of our trip and our adventures.
Under Canvas has several locations so if you’re looking for a relaxing glamping option, this just might be the vibe for you. You can find more about their experiences here. Happy fall y’all, here’s to a great November!
